Clonie Gowen
The
much-awaited Maxim’s July edition
is on stands, and it features Full Tilt
Poker Professional, Clonie Gowen —
also considered one of the sexiest woman
on the poker circuit.
Maxim’s “Guide To The World
Series of Poker” will lead with
a cover photo of Clonie Gowen as never
seen before. Moreover, a two-page spread
has been featured on Clonie.
Better known as Clonie, she was actually
named Cycalona after being born during
a powerful storm in 1971. And today she
is indeed a powerful presence at all the
major poker tournaments.
Clonie started playing poker when she
was living in Dallas as a weekend pass
time winning a few dollars. But, a Top
10 finish at the WPT Costa Rica Classic
with a win at the World Poker Tour Ladies'
Night event in 2003 shoved her into the
world of professional poker players. This
event was, at that time, the highest rated
WPT show ever broadcast. At this event,
she won against world-class players Annie
Duke and Jennifer Harman, as millions
of viewers were watching this show.
At almost every major poker tournament,
you will find Clonie; either as a player
or as commentator. She even hosts some
tournaments and charity events and works
with the best poker players in the world.
She is especially drawn towards children.
She is a regular columnist for Bluff
magazine, the official magazine of the
World Series of Poker; sits on the board
of directors for the United States Poker
Association, a non-profit association,
and teaches poker and is a partner of
a poker school. She plays regular online
poker at FullTiltPoker.com.
If you thought playing poker is all that
she does, you need to know that she even
scuba dives at different locations around
the world and is a member of Team Full
Tilt, an online poker website. She is
one of the most requested commentators
(if not playing) across the states.
