No, we are not talking

current Bet. |

player who repeatedly checks and
calls, but hardly ever raises. |
Cap: |
Ah, I love all kinds
of caps and hats but, here we are
referring to the limit on the number

Typically the cap is three or four
raises plus the opening bet. |

card of a certain kind (usually
a rank). |

place of chips. |
Ante: |
A small, forced Bet
that everyone at the Table is required
to pay before each Hand (in games
with an Ante). |
Catch:
|
When the cards are
treating you well - when you receive
the cards you need for a draw, you
are said to be Catching Cards. Now
that’s something all Poker

the player who earlier had a better

in the muck and move on to the next
hand |

If your mouth is beginning to
water already let me explain that
Poker Chips are small round plastic
discs that are used in lieu of money
at the Poker Table. |
| Chip

This is a method in which you
declare whether you intent to play
high or low in a split-pot game
with declaration. |
| Chip
Dumping: |
A form of collusion that happens
during tournaments, especially in
the beginning few rounds. Two or
more players decide to go all-in
early. The winner gets a large amount
of chips that increases the player's
chance of cashing. The winnings
are then split among the colluders. |
| Chip
Up: |
It’s like rounding off
to the next big figure in calculations.
The lower-denomination chips are
exchanged for higher-denomination
chips. In tournament play, the term
means to remove all the small chips
from play by rounding off any odd
small chips to the nearest large
denomination, rather than using
a chip race.
Another term for it is ‘color
change’.
|

This neither refers
to some Karate move nor to the action

is that in Poker it’s done

with the intention of misleading
or manipulating opponents. |
| Cold: |
It has two meanings |

the player who took the lead in

As the term suggests, it simply
refers to beat a better hand, mostly
