Four-Flush:
|
Just like the Full Flush, a Four
Flush is a set of four cards of
the same suit. |
Four of
a Kind: |
If you have four
cards of the same rank, it is Four
of a Kind. Also, "quads."

Four-Straight: |
Four cards in rank sequence,
of any suit. This is a non-standard
poker hand, generally played in
house rules. |
| Fox
Hunt |
Now, you don’t
have to go to forests for this. Fox
Hunt is to reveal the next card that
would have come up after the hand
is dealt. This is foul play. |
Freeroll:
|
It is one's mathematical expected
value from the current deal, calculated
by multiplying the amount of money
in the pot by one's probability
of winning. For eg., if the pot
currently contains $100, and you
estimate that you have a one in
four chance of winning it, then
your equity in the pot in $25. |
Free Card: |
In a poker game,
when only two players remain in
which one player is guaranteed to
at least split pot with his opponent
before the last card is dealt, such
situation is called a freeroll.
Freeroll also refers to free entry
into a tournament. |
| Freezeout: |
This is a game
in which the play is continued till
one player wins all the chips on the
board. A winner-take-all tournament! |
Full,
Full Boat, Full Hand, Full House:
|
If a hand has three
cards of one rank and two of a second
rank, then, it is called a boat
or a Full House.

| Full
Bet Rule: |
In
some casinos, there is a rule that
a player must bet the full amount
required in order for his action to
make up a raise. |
| G |
|
| Garbage:
|
The "muck."
A worthless hand. If you do
not have any thing in sequence
or any pair in place; you have
a garbage hand. For example,
if your pocket cards are J D
and 4 S, then, that is garbage! |
| Going
South: |
If you
want to get prohibited from
playing in some casinos, go
south. That is, slip some of
the chips while the game is
going on without others knowledge.
Of course, if you want to get
caught, it’s up to you. |
| Grinder:
|
Grinder
is like the grinder. It works
consistently for a long time
to powder something. So, in
poker a grinder is a player
who earns his living by winning
small games over a long run
consistently with a traditional
method of game. |
| Guts,
Guts to Open: |
There
are some games where card ranking
is not considered to open the
betting. Anyone who has the
“guts” can open
the betting. This is called
Guts to Open. |
| Gypsy:
|
If you
have called only once when you
had to call, the blind, and
did not raise your bet. Then,
you will probably enter the
pot with very less betting.
This is called Gypsy where probably
limp into the pot. |
