Cyndy
Violette
Humble smile, sparkling eyes, simple style,
and great gambling profile — that’s
Cyndy Violette: a complete contradiction
to the image of a typical professional
poker player. She is one of the best female
players in the game of poker today.
In her 20s, at an age when most girls
think about marriage and family, Cyndy
started playing poker — long before
it became “trendy”. From being
a blackjack dealer in the 1980s, she now
plays high-stake No-Limit Hold’em
with the vantage point of experience and
knowledge on both sides of the table.
A win in a Poker tournament in Lake Tahoe
in 1984 was an omen for her to move to
the gambling city to prove her wits. In
a Golden Nugget tournament playing Seven
Card Stud Poker (which happens to be her
favorite variant), she won $74,000, which
was the biggest amount ever won by a female
player up until that time. Then, the showbiz
caught her, and she was featured in magazines
like the Playboy, Card Player and Women
Poker Player, and numerous television
shows.
She plays at all stakes, ranging from
$75-150 to $2000-4000. She is one of the
most experienced professional poker players
on the circuit today, having played poker
for most of her life. She is an authentic
World Series of Poker champion bracelet
winner, and the best thing is that, she
did it before the game became "the
next big thing" the world over. Her
favorite Poker variants are Seven Card
Stud and No-Limit Hold 'em.
Sharpness, sociability, experience, spirituality,
and of course, the element of nerve are
the ingredients of her gambling style.
As well, she is probably the only player
that you will find on any poker tour who
does self-realization studies and exploring
the metaphysical side of life in addition
to studying macrobiotics. She plans to
change the food habits of everyone in
the world, shifting from processed to
natural and fresh food.
She is a single parent of a beautiful
daughter and they both shuffle between
Las Vegas and Los Angels, she being on-demand
player on most of the major tournaments
like World Poker Series. She says “Love
life; love poker”. What else can
we say; she is one hell of a Poker Babe!
